Grade I Listed - Sash Window Restoration, Keeping Existing Sashes

Dating in part from the 16th century and birthplace of Thomas Williams, Speaker of the House of Commons, This former grand manor house was suffering from cold, draughty, leaking and rattling windows. The JTP Sash window overhaul and upgrade service proved to be the perfect solution.

26 Historic sash windows underwent extensive repair and renovation works with every window suffering from rotten sills and box frames. The installation of our perimeter draught seal system vastly improved the heat retention whilst eliminating rattles and draughts. With the windows now gliding effortlessly within the box frames and the hardware replaced to improve security, these period windows have truly been restored to their former glory.

Where properties are of historical significance it is always advisable to repair and renovate the windows and doors where possible. With such extensive repair works required our team set about the task of carefully replacing only the rotten components within the windows, taking note of individual details to ensure the repairs were invisible to the eye.

All replacement components were manufactured bespoke in our Newton Abbot workshop using the finest quality hardwoods for maximum life expectancy.

“Absolutely delighted with our refurbished windows, we did not realise how bad they were until they started, what a fantastic job they have done. The team including Herbie, Jack, Nathan and of course not forgetting Tayler who oversaw the process from beginning to end. They were a delight to have around, always polite and courteous, they did an amazing job and we can’t thank them enough.
Good luck for the future.”
