Manufacturing Process

We pride ourselves on producing a premium product, so naturally quality and performance is at the heart of our procurement and manufacturing process. What makes us unique is the way our manufacturing process has been designed to provide high levels of customisation. Through production we can manufacture truly unique timber windows and doors that still provide superior levels of performance throughout that particular design.
To help bring our commitment to timber window and door quality and performance to life, some key points about our factory are listed below:

In house machining from kiln dried boards

Firstly our machinists hand select the kiln dried timber from our timber store. We then straighten the timbers and plane them ready for the jointing process. The components of the windows will then be machined further to ensure they are of the customers bespoke requirements. Once all components are rebated and housed out to receive the relevant hinges and locks they are passed down the production line to the joiners on the bench.

Assembly process

Our fully trained joiners will assemble frames and sashes on the bench using the most up to date glues and techniques available to us. Once assembled and fitted where necessary the windows will be hand sanded for the first time. Once the windows and components are sanded and checked they are sent on to the spray shop.

Coating Process

The way in which we apply the coating significantly impacts the performance of our products and the guarantees which we can provide. We use the most up to date microporous paints available to us in any RAL colour that you require. The windows and components will the be sanded between coats to ensure the highest possible finish.

Glazing Standards

We employ our own stringent Glazing Visual Quality Standard accepting only the best glass guaranteeing the clearest view with the maximum light inside. Consequently, we inspect every glazing unit and if it doesn’t live up to our own standards we will reject it.

Finishing by Hand

Whilst we have significantly invested in machinery to provide the best timber windows and doors in the UK, at every stage of the process we finish by hand. This allows us to exercise rigorous quality controls.
