Grade II Listed - Casement Windows, French Doors.
Shaldon-main

As the thatched half of this cottage is a Grade II listed building the windows were replaced with exact replicas of the existing meaning the windows were single glazed. The replacement windows incorporated vinyl weather seals and quality hardware to ensure they were as energy efficient as possible.

This type of project is not something that we will shy away from so we were able to work with our client closely throughout the project. After initially helping with the drawings required for planning we were on hand to help and advise the cob specialists on the works that would be required when we came to installing the new windows and door sets.

Given the age gap between the two parts of this property it meant that the door sets were able to be double glazed and fitted with multi-point locking systems. The windows for the old part of the building are not double glazed but they benefit from draughts seals and good quality hardware to ensure that they are as energy efficient as they can be.

The installation process was by no means straight forward with much of the property exterior needing to be re-plastered with lime but the project was completed in a timely manner and to an exceptionally high standard, as always.

“From the first discussions to completion, JTP Joinery have been professional, knowledgeable and they clearly care deeply about their product and about customer care. Tayler, Jack and Herbie have been a pleasure to have around and have minimised disruption as much as possible.”
